“Put on then, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience, bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive.” -Col. 3:12-13.
This was my meditation today as I read through my second day of Colossians. How convicting this verse is for me… how often do I not “wear” these beautiful attributes that show our Father’s love to those around us? Sometimes, I may try to wear these… but inside my heart and mind there is a grumbling, a griping, a discontentment plaguing my motives. It’s with our actions AND our hearts that we wear these my friends. Let’s work on casting off and getting rid of anything that we show externally, or simmer inside about internally that doesn’t look much like these characteristics….
I like to dissect things a bit for myself, so today I thought about “clothing” or “wearing” these beautiful attributes… and as you all know, I can be a TAD bit forgetful. This is just too important to forget, so I wrote these on my favorite post-it’s (with my red sharpie….) and placed it on my door.
