Today is one of my favorite days of the year.  It always stands as a day of reflection for me.   Good Friday…  the word good seems so casual and small, when we think of the magnitude of the event that changed the course of all!  — We use it in so many different contexts, and then flippant remarks that leave the word to fail bearing the weight that it truly represents.  Good means satisfactory, excellent, right, and proper.  Good.  Our Father knows what is good.  He is good.  He defines the word.

He defined the word good in my life when He sent His son to die for my sins.  For my failures.  For the price that I had to pay…. but never in my greatest striving ever could hope to do.  He not only established my relationship with my Father — I am His daughter!  I am adopted into His family, and I am His.  Forever.  His beloved.

I am so undeserving.  I could list so many things about me that show how very unlike my Father I am…. but He is daily changing that! Friends, I am not going to list all of them cos it would be an endless list, but more importantly: This blog is not about me — It’s about Him.  🙂  He is shaping me to look like Him… He is trading my ashes, for His beauty.  My peace has come, by the precious costliness of Christ’s blood on the Cross.  My hope is found, and built — established by His life.

How will we respond to this amazing gift?  Can we take the time to just think about this amazing price paid for us?  May we reflect on our own lives, and stand in awe at the goodness of an all-powerful & all-knowing God who compels us to know Him today.  Not know OF Him…. but to truly know Him.

“For in him all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell, and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven, making peace by the blood of his cross.”  Col. 1:19-20
